wilderness campsites on the Magalloway River, making this
beautiful wilderness canoeing river accessible to our customers.
This is easy canoeing that is mostly spent in the Umbagog Lake National
Wildlife Refuge that extends up the Magalloway River from
Umbagog Lake. A highly recommended trip for those looking
for wildlife and solitude in a beautiful setting with easy access.
Dartmouth Land Grant
Located just across the river from
Diamond Peaks is the Dartmouth Land Grant, a spectacular
wilderness sanctuary featuring the Dead Diamond River Gorge,
trout fishing and good day hikes with well developed
hiking areas and many points of interest. We recommend
a day exploring the grant by foot. This is an exceptional day in the Maine woods.
Cedar Stump Wilderness
Campsites Located at the base of the
Rapid River, flowing from Lake Richardson to Umbagog Lake,
it is a popular destination for trips in the Umbagog Lake National
Wildlife Refuge. These sites are located in the heart of the Maine
Woods with interesting day hikes available from this base. There
is also superior salmon fishing on the Rapid River.
